The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has rendered an unqualified apology to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the misconduct of students at the Chiana Senior High School (SHS) in the Kassena-Nankana West District.

The students in the viral video that circulated on social media were heard asking for the president’s head for rituals. They further used unprintable words against the president.

The students are;
1. Mariam Gariba
2. Amina Ali
3. Mariam Planger Matteer
4. Janet Ndanbil
5. Patience Asaah


In an interview with the headmistress of the school, Mad Ivy Betur Naaso, she indicated that the school has initiated disciplinary proceedings and is investigating the issue to bring an end to the case.

She also stated that, the parents of the students involved have been invited to assist with investigations.

This act of the students comes on the back of the economic hardship the country is facing and also reports of shortage of food stuff in some Senior High Schools.

Earlier, the Ghana Education Service (GES), led by Dr. Erica Nkansah, the Director-General has rendered apology to the president and the general public over the misconduct of the Chiana Senior High School students.
