An unusual theft incident was recorded at the Anfoega Police Headquarters in North Dayi, a District in the Volta region of Ghana on Wednesday 16th November, 2022 when two male students intercepted a truck driver who had stolen goods from the school.
The driver, identified as Christian Mane at the time of his arrest had a fully loaded Opel Caravan of with variety of food items which included bags of maize, rice, gari and beans.
His accomplice who doubles as the storekeeper of the school, Mr Elias Tsitsiwu who has constantly been working hand in hand with the driver was also arrested.
According to reports, the storekeeper has been allegedly stealing from the school for a while anytime there is a restock of food items at the expense of the students.
Information gathered suggest that, the dinning hall Prefect together with other courageous students played key roles in this discovery and arrest.
Some of these students even jumped onto the car as the driver attempted to move all in a bid to get him arrested.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Kudjoh Atta acknowledged the efforts of the students and has promised to work with the police for proper investigations and in ensuring that the appropriate sanctions are applied to the thieves.
In the meantime, the DCE will take care of all medical bills of the students who got hurt in the course of action.
