Church of Pentecost set to establish online church assembly

The Church of Pentecost (CoP) plans to establish an e-church, an online assembly by June 2024 in order to connect with people in the virtual space.
This initiative according to the CoP is part of its Vision 2028 agenda. It was outlined by the Chairman of the church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, during the opening of the 2024 Global Ministers and Wives Conference.
The primary goal of the CoP online church is to reach a targeted online audience who are not familiar with the teachings of Jesus Christ and to bring them to a CoP community that operates entirely online. The e-church will have pastors, presiding elders, and the necessary technological infrastructure to minister to people in the virtual space, according to the CoP.

The annual conference, attended by over 5,000 ministers and their wives locally and internationally via Zoom, focuses on the theme of “A people of God unleashed to transform their world with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.” The conference aims to empower the ministers and wives to impact their communities by delving deeper into the chosen theme of the year.
Apostle Nyamekye explained that the Vision 2028 agenda builds upon the previous Vision 2023, running from 2018 to 2023. He emphasized that the vision aims to “unleash” members from the confines of the church and empower them to transform their spheres of influence. The term “transformation” refers to the conversion of individuals and society through the teachings of the gospel. The agenda aligns with The Church of Pentecost’s mission statement, which seeks to establish self-sustaining churches filled with committed, Spirit-filled Christians who will have a positive impact on their communities.
The Vision 2028 agenda includes 31 thematic areas with specific strategic objectives to guide the implementation strategies. However, Apostle Nyamekye acknowledged that certain interventions may be more relevant to the mother church in Ghana than in other nations. External branches are encouraged to develop interventions within their own contexts that align with the church’s goal of unleashing the entire church to transform the world with the values and principles of the Kingdom.
Looking ahead, Vision 2028 aims to create a church where members actively perceive their role as agents of change in the world, embodying the values, principles, and lifestyle of the Kingdom of God. It envisions a church where every member sees themselves as disciples and witnesses of Christ, carrying out ministries beyond the walls of the church. The goal is for each member to have a ministry outside the church, becoming channels through which God’s grace flows to the outside world.
