Developing countries are lagging behind due to inability to take advantage of technology – Ursula Owusu

The world is rapidly advancing technologically over the past years and this has caused many countries to keep up and grow their productivity using this to their advantage.

The Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has however expressed her concern over developing countries not utilizing this fully to their advantage.

According to the Minister, developed countries are rather taking advantage of the opportunity technology offers to gain higher productivity and enhance efficiency whiles developing countries lag behind.

In her speech during a press briefing, hon Ursula said “Technology has been driving innovation and productivity, giving countries that embrace it a competitive advantage over others. Most developing countries continue to lag behind because of their inability to take advantage of the opportunities technology provides to restructure and grow their economies.”

The Minister is sentimental about the technological revolution and seeks to build a digital society through her ministry  with some of the projects she has launched recently.
