The Electoral Commission of Ghana under the leadership of Mrs. Jane Mensah has issued a press statement reacting to media reports of non-Ghanaians trying to register in the ongoing voter’s registration excerise.
In the statement signed by the acting director of public affairs Mrs Sylvia Annoh, the Commission warned and reminded the general public that it is an offence for Non-Ghanaians to register as Voters in the Eixercise. “CL.91 explicitly states that Non-Ghanaian citizens are not entitled to register asV on our Electoral Roll. Non-Ghanaians who are caught in the act will each be liable to pay a hefty fine or serve a two (2) year tem of imprisonment or both.

The Commission also urged the General Public to expose and peacefully resist
attempts by Non-Ghanaians to register during the Voters Registration Excerise.
