The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana H.E Mahamudu Bawumia following the completion and full installation of the integrated ICT system has, on Tuesday, 12th May, 2020 launched an Integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) System of Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC).
According to the Vice President, the Integrated ICT installation for MASLOC is an innovation and IT solution in line with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s plan to digitalise government’s machinery to cover all aspect of Ghana’s economy, thereby making Ghana more productive, ICT free and accessible as well as the most business-friendly country in West Africa and by extension the whole of Africa.
Dr. Bawumia during his speech said, the Integrated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) System installed by President Akufo-Addo’s government will make MASLOC determined to effectively deliver on its aims, objectives or goals by providing funds to SMEs, most importantly customers who formed part of the unbanked sector or the informal sector of the Ghana’s economy.
The Vice President hopes that, the Integrated ICT system of MASLOC would help the organization position itself for the next world order of service delivery.
He therefore challenged MASLOC to see government’s initiative at the sector as a call to duty to assist micro businesses and budding entrepreneurs to get the necessary start-up.
Finally, Dr. Bawumia announced that President Akufo-Addo’s government is determined and shall continue to improve the resource allocation to Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) to ensure that it reaches out to the unbanked majority who forms the greater portion of Ghana’s economy, especially women and the youth across the country.
