Senior Fellow and Director of Troubled Currencies project at the CATO institute in the United States of America, Steve Hanke has stated that when it comes to Ghana’s economic problems, Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahammadu Bawumia is used to playing blame games.
Dr Steve Hanke who is also an Economist at the John Hopkins University in America, made this statement in response to a publication in which the Vice President claimed that Ghana’s current economic hardship as a country is as a result of the impact the COVID-19 and Russia-Ukraine war has had on us.
Dr Hanke believes that this blame game by Dr. Bawumia is long overdue and should be halted.
Steve Hanke said “ When it comes to the source of Ghana’s economic problems, VP Bawumia plays the BLAME GAME. You know, it wasn’t me, it was the guy behind the tree.”
The Economist further asserted that the measure of Ghana’s inflation is at 80% per year and that Without an appropriate currency board, Ghana is going down the tubes.
