Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has made a donation of GH₵20,000 in support of Joy News’ The Classroom Project. The donation was made after his spokesperson, Dr. Gideon Boako, pledged to support the project during his birthday celebration two weeks prior.
Dr. Gideon Boako had expressed his willingness to donate and said he would encourage Dr. Bawumia to do same. The donation was made on Tuesday and will go towards building a classroom for pupils of Jamera Methodist D/A School in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District.

Dr. Boako confirmed that the Vice President visited the construction site and was impressed with the progress. The donation was received by Philip Osei Bonsu, host of the Ekosii Sen program, and Emefa Ewoenam Atiamoah-Eli, the project lead, on behalf of the Multimedia Group.
The Classroom Project was launched to mobilize public support and resources to assist communities with inadequate school structures in building new ones.
The project aims to promote social justice through philanthropy and self-help initiatives and reduce reliance on the government or external donors for community development.
