The MP for Klottey-korle constituency Dr.Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings has donated biodegradable and FDA approved sanitary pads which were been made in Ghana to support the needy girl child’s well- being and education in the Klottey-korle constituency.

The activity was carried out in collaboration with the Director of Education, Circuit Supervisors and Head teachers of the Schools.

In a statement, she said “Sanitary pads are essential menstrual hygiene products and not luxury items. According to UNICEF, approximately 1 in 10 girls in Africa does not go to school during menstruation, in other words, affected girls miss about 10%-20% of their annual school days. Factors attributed to this observation  includes extremely high cost of Sanitary products , cultural restrictions during menstrual period and insufficient education.

For this reason my team and I, donated biodegradable and FDA approved sanitary pads that are made in Ghana to support the needy girl child’s well-being and education in the Klottey-korle constituency. The students were also educated on personal hygiene. This activity was carried out in collaboration with the Director of Education, circuit  Supervisors and Headteachers of the schools to appropriately target the correct corhort of students for the exercise .

let’s come together to create a world where every student, wether boy or girl ,can focus on their dreams without barriers!.
