Eid-Ul-Fitr: Hon. Bernard Ahiafor Donates cash to Muslims Communities in Akatsi South 

The Akatsi South Honourable Member of Parliament, Mr. Bernard Ahiafor Donates an Amount of seven thousand (GH¢7,000.00) to Muslim Communities within his constituency.

The donation was made by the Hourable Member of Parliament on his visit to the two the Major Mosques in the Akatsi South thus; Akatsi and Wute mosques during the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration.

“It is our wish to once again aid in distribution of items to help the celebration. However, the lethal COVID-19 protocols may be circumvented. I therefore present GH¢5000 and GH¢2000 to Akatsi and Wute Muslim communities respectively, towards an edifice which will serve as a remembrance of this year’s Eid-Ul-Fitr” He announced.

Presenting the cash, Mr. Ahiafor emphasized that, though the fasting period could still be successful without his donations or a donation from the great NDC, they are of a firm belief that there are some people who could not genuinely afford the food items needed for their celebration, so the need for the donation but unfortunately, Coronavirus has changed his ways of dealing with them and that called for the cash instead of food items.

He also seized the opportunity to admonish them to exhibit the true nature of Islam in order to live harmoniously with each other. Mr. Ahafia again stressed that, adherence to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) precautionary measures to curb the COVID-19 must be strictly observed in the constituency and beyond.

The legislator also disclosed that, he was informed by the leaders of the two Muslims communities that, the cash donated will be used to purchase a land for cemetery and also build an Arabic-English School at Wute.

“I am glad to here that, Akatsi and Wute Muslim leaderships have agreed to use this token to acquire a parcel of land for their Cemetery in Akatsi and construct Arabic and English school at Wute.” He disclosed.

The Member of Parliament added, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will continue to be grateful to the Muslim community for their unflinching support to mother Ghana. Let us unite and pray against this deadly pandemic. According to him, he has a strong belief that the Almighty Allah will see us through.

“I am here together with my executives, representing the National Democratic Congress and His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to join you celebrate this historic Eid-Ul-Fitr. I must commend the leadership of the Muslim community for the strict adherence to the COVID-19 health protocols. We are in difficult moment. This is unusual period, and so we must change our ways of doing things.” He concluded.

Hon. Bernard Ahiafor was accompanied by Constituency Treasurer, Mr. Solomon Adoteivi, Secretary Mr. Daniel Dagba, Vice Chairman Mr. Famous Matsi, Zongo Coordinator Mr. Bube, Deputy Secretary, Hon. John Amekuedi, The Constituency Organizer Mr. Sulleyman Seidu and , Mr. Johnson Samlafo, member of Volta regional Youth Working Committee and others.
