The Member of Parliament for the Ejisu Constituency Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah supports some young apprentices in his Constituency with cash and equipment to start their business.
On Saturday, 6th March 2021, the MP has donated 200 sewing machines and an additional GH¢500 each to 200 young apprentices in the Ejisu Constituency that needed support to start their business.
Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah also gave out additional 30 hair dryers to some selected youths in the Ejisu Constituency.
In order to sustain this initiative of supporting the youth in his constituency with capital and other facilities, the beneficiaries of the first phase of the “MPs Support for Youth in Apprenticeship” received a bank account from the Yaa Asantewaa Rural Bank so they can repay the initial amount they received which will either be reinvested in their businesses or leverage on to support other youth in the constituency. This is a conscious program to ensure that at every point in time the youth in Ejisu have some funding they can depend on to start and expand their business.
The MP said, it is his hope and prayer that these equipment and funds will go a long way to empower his constituents to be self sufficient in creating jobs for themselves and earning an income.
