Electronic Transfer Levy Act, 2022 assented and gazetted – Download

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assented the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-levy) Bill into Law following its approval/passage by the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana.
An act to impose a levy to be known as the Electronic Transfer Levy on electronic transfers to enhance revenue mobilization by broadening the tax base and to promote for related matters has been assented into Law by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday, 31st March, 2022 after it was passed on Tuesday, 29th March, 2022 by Parliament of Ghana.

Following the approval of the Act and assent, it has officially been gazetted and printed on 31st March, 2022 by Ghana Publishing Company Ltd. Assembly Press, Accra.
According to the Act, the Electronic Transfer Levy imposes 1.50% electronic transfers on all transactions.
The levy shall be charged on an electronic transfer at the time of transfer by the entities listed in the first scope of the Act.
The Electronic Transfer Levy Act has further clarified that, the Commissioner-General shall administer the Levy in accordance with the Revenue Administration Act, 2016, (Act 915).
Meanwhile, the Ghana Revenue Authority has been given the authorization to collect the Levy.
After the Levy is collected, the Commissioner-General shall pay it under this Act into the Consolidated Fund.
