In Ghanaian politics, members of a political parties scarcely criticize their own political parties whether their party is in power or not due to the fear of being suspended or expelled from the party.
However, a member of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Chris Etse Azawodi has written an article titled “ENOUGH OF THE NPP SABOTAGE ” criticizing his own political party.
He said “My patience on the inaction of my own party men run out and I had no choice but to boldly and loudly announce my disappointment and displeasure about how my own party chairman Freddie Blay with the connivance of the police are twisting my arm in a deal that I have invested so
heavily in (the so called 1 Constituency 1 bus policy) which won Chairman Blay his
position.”

About two months ago my patience on the inaction of my own party men run out
and I had no choice but to boldly and loudly announce my disappointment and
displeasure about how my own party chairman Freddie Blay with the
connivance of the police are twisting my arm in a deal that I have invested so
heavily in (the so called 1 Constituency 1 bus policy) which won Chairman Blay his
position.

Subsequently a meeting was summoned by the big wigs of the NPP party at the
Headquarters in Accra where Rev. Dr. Asante Antwi was mandated to retrieve
the vehicles for me.
I waited for over a month but heard nothing from him. I was taking steps to
impound the Vehicles in Accra but Lord Commey, the Director of Operations at
the office of the President, intervened and prevailed on me to hold my gun.
He called the Deputy IGP, Mr Dampare in my presence and asked that I meet
the police once more for the resolution of the matter. Mr Dampare asked him to
speak to Mr Ken Yeboah the Director, CID of the Police since the issue is with him
for consideration.
Mr Commey promised to resolve the issue in three days (by 5th May 2020). IÂ got back on 7th May only to be told by Lord Commey that Mr Ken Yeboah seems
not interested in pursuing the case for whatever reason .
I felt so betrayed and frustrated and asked my Lawyers to present my disappointment to the Service and issue an alttimatum (copy of letter attached) on which expiry I would be forced to take my own steps in retrieving the vehicles.
The alttiumatum elapsed with not even a response from the police. I am by this, serving notice to all concerned, that I have (with the support of all Citizens of Tongu) decided to block all those vehicles plying the roads, especially the Accra- Aflao and Accra-Ho roads on Saturday 30th May 2020.
Enough of the disrespect and undermining of people of the Volta Region by Mr Blay who has consistently disrespected the people of the Volta Region including
our most revered chiefs.
Let posterity judge us all for our actions and inactions.
