Fair Wages summons Labour Union heads to base pay negotiation meeting

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), the agency in charge of salary increment issues on behalf of the government has scheduled and invited the Leaders of the various civil servant organizations and labour unions to a meeting in Accra for their 3rd discussions on the base pay for 2023 and beyond.

This meeting which will be held in the capital happens to be the third one in terms of the salary increment negotiations between the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the leadership of public sector workers after the first two meetings proved unsuccessful. The meeting is set to take place on the 30th of November, 2022  at the Ministry of Health (MOH) Auditorium.

The invite signed by the Chief Executive of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Ing. Benjamin Arthur, indicates that the agenda is continuation of the base pay negotiations for 2023 and beyond.

As of now, both parties have quoted different marginal percentages of increment and hopes the other side compromises. This newly scheduled meeting will determine the next outcome.
