The Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with KA Technologies (KAT) has scheduled an ICT training for teachers across the country.
The training, which is expected to commence on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, is to help teachers use the various e-learning resources that have been made available on the TM1 laptops.
The Government of Ghana and the three main teacher unions (GNAT, NAGRAT and CCT) signed an agreement to provide teachers with laptops to aid them in teaching. Primary School teachers and some Junior High School teachers have however, not received their laptops yet.
A section of the teachers who have not received their laptops are raising concerns as to whether the laptops would be given to them before the workshop or not.
In a letter signed by the Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service Lawyer Anthony Boateng for the Director General has directed all regional directors to inform teachers within their regions to participate in the training.
The training, which would be held online, is expected to be in three sessions as follows:
i. Afternoon session (2:00pm to 4:00pm)
ii. Afternoon session (4:00pm to 6:00pm)
iii. Evening session (6:00pm to 8:00pm)
Participants would be awarded points for their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and certificates for participation and successful completion and assessment.
