Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) professor Kwesi Opoku-Amankwa has pledged to give 10% of his salary every month to support the needy in the Birim South District.
The Director-General also donated text books and other learning materials worth GH¢50,000 to schools in the Birim South District as part of activities to celebrate his birthday.

Coverghana.com.gh has gathered that, apart from the books, Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa also donated a cash price of GH¢30,000 to the District Education Directorate as a seed fund to support teachers.

The gesture, according Prof Kwesi Opoku-Amankwa was aimed at supporting the government to provide quality Education to residents of Birim South where he comes from.
