GES issuance of promotion and upgrading letters

Dr. Eric Nkansah
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has recently announced the issuance of promotion and upgrading letters to both teaching and non-teaching staff.
These promotions primarily affect those in lower ranks, and they have been placed on the appropriate salary scale. Additionally, teachers who have been upgraded to the Principal Superintendent rank have also received their promotion letters.

The effective date for these promotions and upgrades is June 3, 2022. It is important to note that there will be no payment of salary arrears, as all affected staff members have already been placed on the appropriate salary scale.
In a separate notice, GES has informed all relevant staff members that they are expected to conduct promotion interviews and work inspections. This directive applies to both teaching and non-teaching staff in lower ranks who were promoted on or before 2018.
