Lindsey Buckingham
Lindsey Buckingham Biography
Lindsey Adams Buckingham is an American musician and record producer best known for his work as the lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of Fleetwood Mac from 1975 until 1987 and again from 1997 to 2018. Buckingham has released seven solo studio albums and three live albums in addition to his time with Fleetwood Mac.
Fleetwood Mac band has been around since the late 1960s, beginning as a British blues quartet fronted by Peter Green. After Green left, the band struggled for several years without a consistent frontman. Buckingham was approached to join the band in 1974; they had previously recorded in the same studio, and the band was in need of a guitarist and male lead vocalist when Bob Welch quit that year.
Buckingham insisted on including his musical and love partner Stevie Nicks as a requirement for joining. Buckingham and Nicks were the face of Fleetwood Mac during their most commercially successful time, which included the multi-platinum studio album Rumours (1977), which sold more than 40 million copies worldwide.
