GES selects 18 Districts for compliance checks of teachers on NTS

Ghana Education Service (GES) has selected eighteen (18) districts for the inspection of National Teachers’ Standards compliance in schools.

Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah AG. The director, of Schools and Instruction Division for Director-General, has signed a release requesting heads of schools to inform their staff members of the check exercise.

The release was copied to the Chairman (GES Council, Accra), Director-General (GES HQ, Accra), Ag. Deputy Director-General (MS), GES HQ, Accra, the Deputy Director-General (Q&A), GES HQ, Accra, and the Registrar (National Teaching Council, Accra).

The release detailed that in line with section 83 of Act 1023, the National Teaching Council (NTC) is mandated to inspect license of teachers in schools.

To this effect, Management of the Ghana Education (GES) wishes to inform you that the NTC has developed guidelines and assessment tools for the inspection of compliance in schools.

The council has selected and trained compliance officers who would be working in eighteen (18) selected Metro/Municipal/Districts in the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra, and the Northern Regions to access teachers’ compliance to the standards set for the teaching profession which shall form the basis for renewal of teachers’ license.

DATE FOR 2023 NTC COMPLIANCE CHECK IN SCHOOLS

All Regional Directors of Education are requested to inform the selected (list below) Metro/Municipal/District Directors about this exercise which is scheduled to start from November to December 2023.
