The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has served a notice that, its outfit shall end government’s free water delivery to the public.
According to them, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s directive to Ghana Water Company Limited to serve Ghanaians with water for free as part of government’s measures to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus pandemic shall end on 31st December, 2020.

in a statement, the Management of Ghana Water Company Limited and Sanitation and Water Resources indicated that, the last meter reading for the month of December, 2020 officially ends the free water delivery. Henceforth, costumers of Ghana Water Company Limited shall be responsible for payment of their own water bills.

In the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, In July 2020 has directed the Ghana Water Company Limited to deliver free water to all Ghanaians including their customers across the country as government’s initiative to give relief to Ghanaians. This was one of the Akufo-Addo’s government measures to enable Ghanaians continue with the protocols especially the washing of hands under running water, to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
