GNAT is supportive to teachers in South Tongu in diverse ways
The South Tongu District Director of Education Evelyn Araba Zentey (Ms) says the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) is supportive to teachers in South Tongu in diverse ways.
According to the active, innovative and proactive District Director, the South Tongu GNAT has contributed positively towards the capacity building of teachers within her jurisdiction.

Speaking at the 6th Quadrennial 2021 Delegates Conference of the South Tongu GNAT Madam Evelyn Araba Zentey said, the Association has on many occasions organized or sponsored programmes to build the capacity of teachers in the South Tongu District.
She noted that, “It is also worth mentioning on an occasion such as this, that South Tongu District GNAT Secretariat has on several occasions, supported the District
Education Directorate in diverse ways, to our admiration.” On behalf of Management and staff of the Directorate, she expressed her deepest appreciation for your support over the years.

Madam Zentey said, she is highly delighted to be invited and to be part of this important ceremony as delegates elect executive officers for the various positions in GNAT for the next tenure of office.
“Chairman, GNAT as a Teacher Union is noted to have championed the cause of teachers in Ghana and in particular, the South Tongu District in respect of labour related issues as well as the welfare of teachers. In my many years in the service, I have observed and experienced the transformation of GNAT over the years. The current status of GNAT, its activities and programmes, and their impact on teachers is worth commending. It is a fact that healthy competition is good. It helps improve oneself in order to perform better than one’s competitors.” Ms. Evelyn Araba Zentey explained.

According to her, all of us are now very proud of GNAT in a special way in her fight for teachers’ cause. She said, GNAT, has on many occasions organized or sponsored programmes to build the capacity of teachers in the South Tongu District.
The Director also urged the delegates to elect leaders who will fight the cause of members of the Union for the next tenure of office, focusing on the theme for GNAT at 90 anniversary “Surviving as a reliable and vibrant Teacher Union in the 21st Century: Seeking the welfare of the Ghanaian Teacher”

As the Special Guest of Honour of the occasion, she use the opportunity to declare the GNAT 6th Quadrennial and 53rd District Delegates Conference, 2021 officially opened.
