GNFS rescues driver’s mate involved in 600 bags of cement truck accident at Kuntuso
Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has rescued a driver’s mate in a vehicular accident at Kuntuso off the Techiman-Kumasi Highway on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
A rescue crew from the Techiman Metro Fire Station responded to the accident involving a DAF long truck (GX-8042-22) carrying 600 bags of cement and a Hajue motorbike.
According to GNFS, the truck, en route from Offinso to Drobo, veered off the road into the Tano River while trying to avoid the motorbike.
Firefighters rescued the truck’s mate, who was trapped in the cowl, and handed him over to the Ambulance Service for treatment, while salvaging a large portion of the cement load.
