Go and Sin No More: Nana Addo grants 794 Prisoners Amnesty

Information available to coverghana indicates that the President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo Addo has in consultation with the council of state in accordance with Article 72(1) of the 1992 Constitution granted amnesty to 794 deserving prisoners.

In the document sighted by coverghana, the President took this action to help mitigate the dangers posed by congestion in prisons across the country especially in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in the country.
