The Gold Fields Ghana has, on Friday, 21st January, 2022 donated various essential items to provide immediate relief to the victims of the explosion at Appiatse, near Bogoso in the Western Region.
The items include 75 camp beds, 400 mattresses, 15 tents (each with a capacity to accommodate 10 people), 400 bags of sachet water, foodstuff, detergents, and other provisions. The items cost US$29,000.
Robert Siaw, the Regional Manager – Community Relations, together with their company’s Medical, Safety and Community Affairs teams, presented the items to the MCE for Prestea-Huni Valley, Dr. Isaac Dasmani, and the MP for Prestea Huni-Valley, Hon. Wisdom Cudjoe.
According to the Gold Fields Ghana, the donation is their initial support to the victims as they assess and ascertain further assistance that will be required by the community.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and those who have lost loved ones.” They said.
