Government inaugurates Consultative Committee to oversee the 1992 Constitution review -Ken Ofori-Atta

The government of Ghana has inaugurated a Consultative Committee to oversee the review of the 1992 Constitution.
According to the 2024 Financial Year Budget presented to the Parliament today, Wednesday, 15th November 2023 by Ken Ofori-Atta, Minister for Finance it was stated that the government has inaugurated a Consultative Committee to oversee the 1992 Constitution review
Under the Sectoral Development and Outlook of the 2024 Financial Year Budget read by the Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been touched. A review of the 1992 constitution has been agreed on.
It was indicated that “The Ministry activated processes that engendered debate on the possible review of the 1992 Constitution, and inaugurated a Consultative Committee to oversee the review.
In addition to that, how the review will be carried out has also been detailed. “The activities included organising consultative meetings with constitutional experts, elderly statesmen, and members of the Council of State.”
Many Ghanaians hope that the sitting for the review should yield the best result to “ameliorate” the burden the 1992 Constitution has carried for decades now.
