The Government of Ghana under the leadership of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has doubled the capitation Grant for public schools in the country.
The capitation Grant for Basic Schools I’m the country use to be GH¢4.50 before the current Government was elected.
In the quest of Government to make education better in the basic schools in the country,the Government has increased the capitation Grant per student to GH¢10.00.
WHAT IS CAPITATION GRANT
The capitation grant was introduced in Ghana in the year 2005 to facilitate the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of primary education for all.
It is to ensure that all public basic education is free for all in the country which means no student will be required to pay fees (no payment of school or tuition fees)
