The Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA) has lauded the the efforts being made by the Government and the Bank of Ghana to stabilize the Cedi.
The President of GUTA, Dr. Joseph Obeng in a press statement urged the Government to continue with more efforts to sustain the programme and bring relief to the business community.
In addition, they (GUTA) said “the value of the Cedi begins to appreciate, GUTA wishes to appeal to members of the business community to also adjust prices of goods and services accordingly, to make the consuming public feel the impact of this positive trend.”
They as an association hope to see further and continuous appreciation of the Cedi and envisage that the economy will turn around in the shortest possible time.
Earlier, the association protested and directed shops for closure due to the exchange rates including the cost at which businesses run following the rising cost of running business generally.
Upon engagement with the government, the union announced plans government in taking in order to “swiftly come out with pragmatic measures to solve the challenges”.
