High court slaps Kennedy Agyapong with ¢130K for defaming Abdul Kweku Baako

Information available to coverghana indicates that the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr has won the defamation suit he brought against the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency.

Mr. Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr sued Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for using words Mr Baako deemed to be defamatory in nature and alleging that he Mr Kweku Baako was involved in illegal mining activities.

In the ruling delivered by the High Court today 26th June,2020, the court ruled that, Mr Kennedy Agyapong should retract his statement and apologise three times on the platforms he used to defame Kweku Baako within 30 days.

In the rulling, the court set damages at Ghc100,000 with legal cost of Gh30,000.
