Hon. Davis Ansah Opoku, the Member of Parliament for Mpraeso in the Eastern Region has indicated that, the Highway Authority of Ghana has assured him of plans to fix the Kwahu Tafo – Adawso road.
In a Facebook post, made by the MP, the Highway Authority will address the challenge as a matter of urgency.
The Kwahu Tafo – Adawso road, links the Kwahu enclave to the Kwahu Afram Plains North and South Districts, all in the Eastern Region.
Hon. Davis Ansah Opoku, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the company of the MCE and constituency officers assessed the collapsed culvert on the Kwahu Tafo – Adawso Highway.
The situation, if not addressed quickly could lead to the death of travellers and motorists, since it’s a major road that connects the Kwahu Afram Plains to the other parts of the Eastern Region.
Roads within the Kwahu Afram Plains North and South Districts have been a deplorable state for a while, with past and present governments seemingly doing nothing to improve them.
The government of Ghana has currently secured a €350m loan facility to construct a bridge over the Ekye-Adawso stretch of the Afram River.
They also inspected a classroom block that have been converted as an ICT lab at Adawso. The facility, according to the MP, would be ready and available for use soon.
