Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa cuts sod for road construction to begin on Aveyime-Agbetikpo-Tokpo road
Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, has announced the commencement of road construction on the Aveyime-Agbetikpo-Tokpo road. The project, which aims to address the challenges caused by damaged roads due to floodwaters, started with a sod-cutting ceremony.
The entire cost of the construction is being fully funded by Mawums Construction Company Limited, marking a remarkable collaboration between the private sector and the government. The company’s generosity and commitment to the development of the region have been appreciated by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and the constituents.
The Aveyime-Agbetikpo-Tokpo road has been a cause of concern for residents, as it has created significant transportation and logistical challenges. The damage caused by floodwaters has made it difficult for people to commute, affecting their daily lives and hindering the smooth distribution of relief items to displaced camps along the Agbetikpo and Fodzoku corridor.
With the immediate commencement of road construction, the project is expected to be completed in a few days. Once finished, it will greatly facilitate the transportation of relief items to the affected camps and improve the overall movement of goods and people in the area.
The construction will not only enhance connectivity but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the North Tongu constituency.
Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa expressed his gratitude to the CEO, management, and construction workers of Mawums Construction Company Limited for their dedication and support in funding this essential infrastructure project. Their collaboration with the government will undoubtedly bring relief and progress to the constituents.
