Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa successfully hosted North Tongu Youth Empowerment Durbar with Special Guest Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
The North Tongu Youth Empowerment Durbar, hosted by Hon. Okudzeto, was a resounding success, held on Tuesday, 5th November 2024, at the Battor R/C Primary School Park. The event, which brought together the energetic youth, was an opportunity for Hon. Okudzeto to reaffirm his commitment to youth development through a series of impactful initiatives designed to equip the youth with essential tools for their future.

A key highlight of the event was the presence of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast and running mate to former President John Mahama.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang graced the occasion as the Special Guest and delivered a powerful speech, emphasizing the importance of education, skill development, and creating opportunities for the youth to thrive.
Hon. Okudzeto, known for his dedication to empowering the youth, took the opportunity to provide various forms of support.

Final-year tertiary students were presented with laptops to assist them in their academic pursuits, while apprentices received sewing machines and hairdryers to enhance their skill sets in the fashion and beauty industries.
In addition, traders in the community were given financial support to help grow their businesses, fostering local economic growth. These contributions reflect Hon. Okudzeto’s steadfast belief in the power of youth empowerment and his commitment to ensuring that the youth in North Tongu are well-equipped for success.

“Empowering the youth is not just an initiative; it is the right thing to do,” Hon. Okudzeto stated. “As long as I have the privilege to serve, I will continue to invest in the youth of North Tongu.”
In his address, Hon. Okudzeto also highlighted the promises of former President John Mahama, who has committed to several groundbreaking initiatives, including the National Apprenticeship Programme, the 1 Million Coders initiative, laptops for students, the abolition of admission fees for tertiary education, special incentives for startups, and a broad job creation agenda through the 24-hour economy concept.

“If we don’t empower the youth, we cannot build our nation,” Hon. Okudzeto added. “I am committed to giving my very best to my beloved North Tongu.”
The event ended on a high note, filled with excitement and renewed hope for the future, as the youth of North Tongu were inspired to strive for excellence with the tools and support they have been provided.
