He used the opportunity to thank the people of Tefle for their support in the 2020 general elections and again seek for their support going forward.

Mr. Woyome explained that, he has the people of Tefle at heart, adding that, he can’t turn his back against them as being speculated that, Tefle is not his favorite town in South Tongu.

According to him, all speculations and allegations against him were machinations and antics by group of individuals to tarnish his reputation and the party in South Tongu for no crime committed.

The MP reiterated that, the party is currently in opposition. The best thing to do now is to be united to bring the party back to power so as to continue the developmental projects the National Democratic Congress (NDC) began in the South Tongu Constituency.

He also expressed worry over how some members of the NDC are playing double standard and being used by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to achieve their aims in the South Tongu Constituency.

Mr. Woyome notes that, the skirts and blouse agenda machinated by some people affected the presidential and parliamentary elections results in South Tongu during the 2020 elections.

He believes that, the strategy was used by the NPP to create confusion in the party which was supported by some supposed pro NDC members.

“They plotted people to campaign against the NDC’s Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama to get more votes for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. NPP is planting people in the NDC, especially South Tongu to distort the ranks and files of the Party in the Constituency. Surprisingly, they used and still using our own people against us. Some people regretted for being used after the election.” He disclosed.

He again said, NPP is trying all means to create disunity in the NDC. There is no way to allow them achieve their mischievous agenda.

Addressing issues of town roads, Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome said, he has made serious of follow ups to the Roads and Highways Ministry, filed series of questions in Parliament about the abandoned roads project in the South Tongu but, the NPP government turns deaf ears to his requests.

He explained that, he presented report on all town roads especially, Tefle, Sogakope, Dabala and Sokpoe to the Ministry of Roads and Highways but, they have not shown any concern.

He has therefore reiterated that, his outfit will continue to engage all appropriate ministries and stakeholders who matters to address the issues, but, a situation where they fail, the NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama will tackle the situations if they come to power.

He also cleared the misconception many people has that, the ongoing Tefle town road rehabilitation is financed by a philanthropist or an individual from Tefle.

According to to him, there’s no one using his/her own money to construct roads in Tefle township. Anyone who said that is false.

“I am very happy about some issues raised and how we can tackle them. Tefle road and water challenges have been a major concern in addition to the high rate of unemployment. We are doing our best to solve these challenges not only in Tefle but in the entire constituency.”

“The contractors on these roads in the constituency are only waiting for money from the minister to start work. This has been confirmed by the minister himself.”

“We are also pushing for the expansion work on the Agordome water plant to be completed as early as possible. Together we will build this constituency.” He explained.

The MP used the platform to urge and call for peace and togetherness in South Tongu.

“We need unity before, during and after the branch elections towards 2024 victory. If there is no unity at the branch level, the party cannot succeed at the constituency, regional and headquarters.”
