I have never seen this type of ‘Dumsor’ before – IMANI’s Franklin Cudjoe teases

The Founding President of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, a think Tank responsible for Advancing Freedom and Prosperity through Advance-Based Research Mr. Franklin Cudjoe says, he has never seen the current type of power outage “Dumsor” being experienced under the Presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo before.
Describing the situation, he said, in the current “Dumsor”, the light fit flicker, then go low like an oxygen that got finish in the hospital and then surge like a parachute.
GRIDCo outlines key reasons for the current power outage
He said this following the statement made by the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah on Newsfile this weekend that, the current power outage is a different and special type of “Dumsor” as compared to what was experienced during for President John Dramani Mahama’s Presidency.
The Nation, for sometime now has been facing intermittent power outage described as “Dumsor” in some parts of the country. The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) said, the perceptions of impending nationwide power cuts or intention of embarking on a nationwide load shedding programme is not true.
According to them, the transmission company is currently carrying out key projects to enhance power supply reliability in Greater Accra.

At a press briefing by the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) Ltd at the Ministry of Information on the recent power situation in the country, the Minister for Energy Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has emphasized that the current power challenges in the country are not due to power generation or fuel shortages, but rather due to technical issues.
He further clarified that none of the current challenges are due to government owing any entity, and that Ghana has put in place mechanisms where every generator, transmitter and distributor of electricity is paid something regularly
Aside all this explanations, IMANI boss, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe still believe that, “Dumsor” is “Dumsor” and has no different types irrespective of the situation. According to him, if the position of govermment officials on the type of “Dumsor” being experienced is different from what occurred in the past, why not agree on a name for it?
