I paid GH¢ 30,000 for the Convention venue, not GH¢ 10,000- Cheddar backs with receipts

Nana Kwame Bediako, the 2024 aspiring Presidential candidate disclosed that he paid GH¢ 30,000 for the Convention venue, not GH¢ 10,000 as the government has publicized. To make the point valid, Cheddar backed it with receipts.

Businessman Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known as Freedom Jacob Caesar/Cheddar has vehemently responded to the document announcing the revocation of the permit for his Public Lecture on January 8, 2024.

The New Africa Foundation and New Force Founder, in an interview on TV3’s New Day, expressed frustration over discrepancies in the reported refund amount and the actual payment for the convention venue.

Cheddar, disputing the stated refund of GHC10,000, emphasized, “The receipt that we got is GHC30,000. So if the government is showing GHC10,000, it is minus two-thirds… We have paid the money and you have issued us a receipt of GHC30,000.” He is steadfast in providing evidence of the higher payment through receipts, challenging the accuracy of the information in the document from the office of the President.

Expressing his dismay at the cancellation of the Public Lecture, Cheddar highlighted that the payment for the event was made under the New Africa Foundation. However, he noted that the revocation document came with the name Black Star Line Festival, leading to confusion and raising questions about potential discrepancies within different offices of the President.

Cheddar queried, “Do we think that there is another office that we have in Ghana that is for the president with the same stamp? Because I am kind of confused, and I am trying to ask the nation.” The businessman, who sees himself as the salvation of Africa, raised concerns about the clarity and consistency of official communications.

Furthermore, Cheddar revealed a substantial investment of $300,000 into the public lecture, expressing disappointment that the event, intended to inspire the youth and people of Africa, never came to fruition. His frustration stems from not only financial losses but also the missed opportunity to contribute positively to the community and showcase Africa’s potential.

As he navigates these challenges, Cheddar seeks transparency and answers to the discrepancies surrounding the revoked permit and the subsequent events that unfolded.
