The Ghanaian chef Abdul-Razak Failatu known widely as Chef Faila disclosed that the brother of Former President John Dramani Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama supported her with a huge sum of money to push her music career years ago.

Before Chef Faila had the” public name calling”, she was a musician but did not excel in that career/field.

Faila was not popular before the cook-a-thon. She was known by only a section of the public but the longest cooking marathon gave her a great facelift.

Shooting her career to another dimension, chef Faila commenced 2024 with a Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt where she submitted her application and got approved for the longest cooking marathon (Cook-A-Thon).

Initially, she was approved to cook for 5 days starting from 1st January 2024 but as the attempt got closer to the end, she announced an extension date (addition 5 days) leading to a total of 10 days.

Faila hit the ground at Modern City Hotel, Tamale for ten (10) days and cooked for 227 hours. Currently, her bid is awaiting validation and confirmation from GWR.

At the end of the cooking marathon, Chef Faila addressed the press where she thanked all hands that prayed and supported her in all diverse ways.

During the press meeting/address, she promised to up her craft after gaining great attention from all sectors of the economy.

Chef Faila in the speech after ending the cok-a-thon attempt said

“Words will not be enough, words will not be able to describe how I feel. This is the first in history to see religions, to see tribes, to see towns, to see people with different views come together as one to push Ghana to the top of the world. This is extremely amazing.

“It is the collective effort of everyone: children, the youth, adults, and every single soul, working day and night to make this a reality for all of us. This is a win for all of us and not me. I couldn’t have done it without you.”

The cook-a-thon unfolded the love others have for the nation. People traveled from far places to Tamale to support her dream. Others also used the social media platform to show love and support for her dream.
