IGP visits families of two police officers who drowned in the Oda River

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh, has paid a visit to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region to commiserate with families of Lance Corporal Amedius Akwesi Boateng and Lance Corporal Amedius Akwesi Boateng, two police officers who drowned in the Oda River in the Obuasi Police Division last Wednesday.

IGP’s visit today, 20th July, 2020 was also to hear for himself accounts of how, where and why the officers drowned.

He interacted with the police officers who survived the near-drowning. He also interacted with police commanders and police officers within the Divisional Command at a durbar.

The IGP also interacted with the Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Adansi Boannah and the Obuasi East District Chief Executive Hon.Faustina Amissah, who joined the entourage to visit the families.
