Inflation feels like 80% not 33.9% – Dalex Finance CEO

The Chief Executive Officer of Dalex Finance, Mr. Kenneth Kwamina Thompson, says the inflation rate released by the Ghana Statistical Service is not a true reflection of the actual inflation in the country.

Speaking in an interview on PM Express on JoyNews, Kenneth Thompson indicated that for him, the Statistical Service inflation rate of 33.9%, for him it feels more like 80%.

Explaining using the price of frozen foods in the country, he explained that frozen food which costs 120 Cedis few months ago is not sold at the price of 250 cedis.

“They say inflation is what, 33.9%? In my pocket it feels more like 80%.I mean if you take the cost of basic things – frozen foods January 2022 120 cedis, now it’s 250 cedis, that is 108% increase. That is frozen foods, frozen chicken.”- Kenneth Thompson said during the interview.
