Showing up for the game, Thomas Teye Partey missed out from the first eleven for game as announced by the head Coach of the Black Stars.

He was quickly replaced by another top midfielder Baba Iddrisu in a game which ended 3:0 against Ghana.

Many individuals are wondering why Thomas Teye Partey was not part of the game.

In a update, a member of the Black Stars medical team has confirmed that, Thomas Partey’s exclusion was only precautionary.

Thomas Partey felt uncomfortable around his knee and was advised to pull out from the game to get more fit for the upcoming games.

The medical team explained that, Thomas Teye Partey is expected to be ready for Tuesday’s game against Nicaragua.

Meanwhile, Coach Otto Addo admits he made a mistake with his starting XI. That debunks the theory that coaches can’t be at fault for choosing XIs because they train with the players.

He said, “I think I made mistakes, I learnt a lot more about my players, and picking the next eleven (11) will depend on the performance in the next game”
