Is the “Year of Return” initiative still in place?

Ghanaian international and Africa’s most awarded rapper, Sarkodie, has again set twitter ablaze for a post he made concerning the “Year of Return” initiative.
If you could recall in 2019, the rapper was awarded the ambassadorial deal for this initiative by the government, for promoting Ghana on bigger stages all over the world.

Black Entertainment Award, which is popularly called BET, created a new category in 2019 to award rappers who flow perfectly and Sarkodie, happens to be the winner for the first time.
When he was awarded, he used the medium to promote our country which saw him winning the nation’s heart, and later winning the ambassadorial deal.

However, nothing was heard about this initiative again until 2021 when Sarkodie, tweeted about it as his fans and music lovers became confuse since they never heard anything about it for a while now.
Now the question is, ‘is the year of return initiative still in place”?
