Renowned broadcast Journalist with GHOne Television, Serwaa Amihere says it’s disrespectful the way Ghana Police Service heckled Members of Parliament on their way to submit their Petition to the Electoral Commission.

The Minority Member of Parliament today embarked on a March from the Parliament house to the offices of the Electoral Commission of Ghana to Present their Petition to the Electoral Commission on the election results declared by the commission.

However, during the protest March to the Electoral Commission by the Minority Members of Parliament, the Ghana Police Service interrupted the March with the explanation that MPs did not notify them which resulted in a scuffle.

Reacting to the scuffle that occurred between the Members of Parliament and the Ghana Police Service, Serwaa Amihere indicated that the Police should have treated the MPs with a little more respect.

In her tweet, Serwaa Amihere wrote;

So can’t @GhPoliceService treat MPs with a little more respect and not heckle them on their way to present a petition? What harm is there in presenting a petition? Is this a democracy or what?”
