James was born on December 19, 1959 into the Royal Bobi Family of Bake to Mr. Lawrence Koku Attachie and Mrs. Cecilia Afua Borluvi-Attachie, both deceased.

He received his primary and middle school education from the Ho Roman Catholic Boys School.

James Mottey Attachie also got diplomas from the Youth Training Centre, Avenorpeme, and the Ho Technical Institute, where he received a Diploma in Building Construction and an Advance Diploma in Block Laying and Concreting.

James also holds a BSc degree in Building Technology from the Institute of Engineering and Architectural Science.

James Mottey Attachie is a seasoned educator who has helped shape the lives and personalities of many students who have passed through his hands. He has held a variety of posts in academia, including the following:

• National Youth Authority Vice Principal (Academic) (YLSTI- Fawohayeden)

• Senior House Master – National Youth Authority (YLSTI-Takrawase)

• Department Head (Construction Department) – National Youth Authority (YLSTI-Takrawase)  (YlSTI-Fawohayeden)

James has also been actively involved in church activities and has held a variety of church posts.

He was elected Church President of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Takrowase in November 2007, and again in 2012 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Fawohayedon.
