Jérémy Baffour Doku is a Belgian professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for Rennes in Ligue 1 and for the Belgium national team. He has been hailed as one of the most talented young players in the world at his position, thanks to his speed, dribbling, and creativity.
Jeremy Doku known as The Belgian Flash Doku began his football career at a young age in Antwerp, playing with KVC Olympic Deurne and Tubantia Borgerhout before moving on to Beerschot. Later, at the age of ten, he transferred to R.S.C. Anderlecht. At the age of 16, he made his professional debut for Anderlecht in a 4-2 Belgian First Division A loss to Sint-Truiden on November 25, 2018. Doku signed a five-year contract with Rennes on October 5, 2020, for €26 million in addition to bonuses, making him the club’s most expensive signing in its history. Doku scored his first goal for the French club against Metz on March 20, 2021, but was sent off later in the same game for a harsh challenge.
Doku managed 12 successful dribbles against Bordeaux on May 2, creating a new record in the French League 1. The previous mark was held by Brazilian sensation Neymar with 11 dribbles in PSG’s game against Lyon in December 2020. Only Marseille midfielder Florian Thauvin had a higher success rate than Doku among the ten players who tried the most dribbles in the league competition.
