Business man and the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has revealed why many Ghanaians are lazy.
In an interview on Yfm, Kennedy Agyapong revealed that the former President of the Republic of Ghana Jerry John Rawlings is remote cause of the laziness of many Ghanaians.
During the interview, the Member of Parliament was asked if he thinks information on how to do business is not available to the youth or they don’t just want to listen. In his answer, Kennedy said
“The perception unfortunately in this country that ‘sika duro’ is there when we were growing up was there but the person who worsened the situation was ex president Rawlings. He made people lazy and over dependent on government because when he came, he killed and collapsed successful Ghanaian businesses in this country.”
He explained that when he came yo power, he killed or force certain business owners to run away from the country and allowed their workers to take over the businesses and run and as the employees don’t know the thinking that went into the setting up of the businesses they end up collapsing them.
He further added that “Rawlings created the impression that the business owners were cheating their workers. He indoctrinated Ghanaians to the extent that everything was about Government. So you’ll see that today, most of our people have become beggars.”
He finally concluded that “anyone who depends on government will never succeed in life because, what the government has, she has to share to everybody”
