Jimmy Mathew Herget is American born professional baseball pitcher for Los Angeles Angels of the Major League Baseball (MLB). Before joining the los Angels, Herget previously played major league baseball for Cincinnati Reds and the the Texas Rangers.
Herget baseball dreams came into the limelight when he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in his high school at Tampa in Florida in the 2012 MLB draft. He went ahead and played college baseball for the University of South Florida before he joined the Cincinnati Reds in the 2015 MLB draft.
Jimmy Herget spent all the 2015 season after his professional debut with the Billings Mustangs. The Reds added Jimmy Herget to their 40-man roster in the 2018 season. He promoted in 2019 to the major leagues after many successes in the previous seasons. Herget signed a major league deal with the Texas Rangers in 2020 after his assignment by Texas after they acquire Josh sborz.
After giving up 4 runs in 4 innings pitched, Jimmy Herget was designated for assignment on 13th August, 2020 and he became a free agent. Herget signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels on 16th August, 2021 as a free agent. He was then assigned to the Triple – A salt lake Bees. He made only 4 appearances, going 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA and 5 strikeouts, the Angels selected Herget’s contract on August 31, 2021.
