The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon, Mr. John Setor Dumelo has requested for a recount of ballot papers within the Constituency.

John Setor Dumelo made the request to the Ayawaso West Wuogon District Electoral Officer few hours after his political opponent has been declared winner of the Parliamentary election.

John Dumelo’s letter intercepted by Coverghana.com.gh reads, “l humbly write to your office seeking for a recount of all ballot boxes across the Constituency.”

According to him, “this  is due to several irregularities that has been identified in some of the polling centers.”

“One of such irregularities was swapping of my figures and that of the NPP candidate’s figures at polling centers.

Lydia Alhassan Defeats John Dumelo in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary Race

According to the Results declared by the Electoral Commission in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, the actor John Dumelo has been defeated in a bid to become the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency by Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the incumbent MP.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan had 39, 851 votes whiles John Dumelo secured 37, 778 votes in the December 2020 Parliamentary Elections.
