Kristin Dawn Chenoweth is an American singer and actress who has appeared in musical theater, film, and television.
She earned a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 1999 for her role as Sally Brown in Broadway’s You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
Chenoweth received a second Tony Award nomination in 2003 for her performance as Glinda in the musical Wicked.
Her television credits include Annabeth Schott on NBC’s The West Wing and Olive Snook on ABC’s comedy-drama Pushing Daisies, for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award in 2009 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
She also appeared in the ABC TV series GCB in 2012, Trial & Error in 2018, and the Apple TV+ musical comedy Schmigadoon! in 2021 and 2023, as Mildred Layton and Miss Codwell, respectively.
She grew up singing gospel music in Oklahoma and studying opera before deciding to pursue a career in musical theater.
