The World’s most prestigious competition, football, the FIFA World Cup tournament has only five (5) African countries that qualified for the round of 16 since 1930, the year of its inception.
Since the commencement of the FIFA WORLD CUP in 1930 till date, 2022, only five (5) African countries qualified for the Round of 16 Stage.
Africa as a continent has a great love for football for ages. THE QUALIFIED COUNTRIES FOR ROUND OF 16
Morocco appeared in 1986 as the 1st African country.
Cameroon (1990) in history reached the round of 16 stages as the 2nd African country.
Nigeria in 1994, the next season. They are the 3rd.
Senegal came the 4th after 2 seasons (8years) in 2002.
Ghana became the 4th after a season (4 years) which is 2010.
Currently, in 2022, Morocco has qualified again after been the 1st on the list in 1986 before Cameroon in 1990.

Throughout the list of Host nations for the FIFA WORLD CUP history, only South Africa is a host nation in 2010 (African country).
Italy hosted the 1990 FIFA World Cup, Japan and South Korea hosted it jointly in 2002, South Africa hosted it in 2010, and Qatar in 2022.
