BACKGROUND
In August 2022, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa successfully cleared a fully loaded 40-foot container of medical equipment shipped from the United States of America for the historic modern Surgical Theatre Project in his constituency lobbied by him.
The fully loaded 40-foot container of medical equipment was cleared on Saturday, 13th August, 2022.
Installations of the equipment began in August immediately they were cleared, ahead of commissioning of the MP’s Modern Surgical Theatre Project.
The Member of Parliament lobbied for the medical equipment to furnish the first multi-purpose surgical theatre at the Tagadzi Polyclinic.
He later realized that, there is a need to donate some of the equipment to other hospital in the country.
Aside the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the MP earlier visited Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi (SALL) in the Oti Region and donated medical equipment to the Likpe Polyclinic based on a needed assessment received by his office.
The 65 year old polyclinic is the only referral facility within the SALL enclave of the Oti region.
Ablakwa added that, even though the good people of SALL don’t have an MP, they have friends.
In an earlier statement, Mr. Ablakwa disclosed that, his office is spending about GH¢150,000.00 on the medical equipment.
