The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. John Dramani Mahama speaks on his Petition filed at the Supreme Court today, Wednesday, 30th December, 2020 to contest the 2020 Presidential election results.

On 9th December, 2020, the Electoral Commissioner Mrs. Jean Mensa who also serves as the Returning Officer for the Presidential election has declared Preaident Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as president elect in the December 2020 Polls.

Mahama asks Supreme Court to declare 2020 Presidential election null and void

The declaration according to the 2020 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress is flawed and rigged just to favour Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. In view of this, he has since rejected the outcome of the Presidential election results and said, the EC’s plans were to subvert the will of Ghanaians during the elections.

NDC files petition at Supreme Court against 2020 Presidential election results

In a press briefing, Mr. Mahama said, he has accepted defeat before in best interest of the nation when he realized the December 2016 elections were not in his favor. Even though, he was an incumbent President, he conceded defeat and call his opponent Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to congratulate him for winning the election in 2016.

That notwithstanding, he can’t just accept defeat of a flawed and rigged elections conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana led by Mrs. Jean Mensa.
