High Court prohibits ASEPA from demonstration

Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) has been restrained with a 10 days Court order from embarking on a pretest as scheduled.

According to the Police statement issued the High Court under Justice Elfreda Amy Dankyi (Mrs.), has today 30th December, 2020, placed a Prohibition Order on a group calling itself, “Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA)’ from embarking on an intended demonstration on 4th January, 2021.

Effia Tenge, the Deputy Superintendent of Police and Head, Public Affairs Unit/AR in press statement noted that, the ten (10) days restraining order, was issued after the police filed an application at the High Court, upon a demonstration notice received from the convener and Executive Director of ASEPA, Mensah Thompson.

The court further draws the attention of ASEPA and its allied CSO’s, directors, officers, agents, assigns and workmen, to the Restraining Order for compliance.
